An email has been around for a long time and it has generated more revenue than anyone could imagine. The fact that a business can reach anyone if they have their email address is special and it is easy to sell products if the product has value and the copywriting converts well.
On all sides of the business, there have been clear benefits, and I have put together some of the massive impacts that it has had. We are still using email to this day even though there have been many other technological advancements.
Business email is a quick and quality means to communicate with clients, potential customers, suppliers, staff, your bank manager and industries the world over. Sometimes, due to language barriers, time zones, inconvenience and for record purposes the telephone is just not a viable form of communication.
Email empowers you to connect with people from around the corner to around the world – quick, cost effective, professional, concise, personal with the ability to ‘talk to more than one person at the same time.’ What’re more, you don’t have to employ more people to make use of email as a medium. Today every employee – from the receptionist to the storeman and everybody in-between – has access to email.
Communication Within the Organization
The first point of view that I will point out is within an organization. Email connects employees and managers instantaneously, and that is very beneficial for business. Instead of hopping on a phone call, you can just email them, and they can get back to you when they have time.
That example above is very relevant to business because it is hard to always be on the same page as someone else and be available for phone calls. Instead, employees can relay information and questions and people can answer as soon as they are ready. It is also useful because multiple people can have a conversion together in an email chain.
Communicating to Customers with Email
Pivoting from the organizational side lets analyze the business to the consumer side. Email gives business access to someone’s personal email and it lets them contact them directly. This is huge because customer disputes can be resolved via email and a business can sell to a customer via email.
Email is the preferred communication medium of a lot of people and it has stood the test of time with business to their consumers. Calling a business to settle a problem or dispute in a transaction can waste a lot of time. It takes time because a representative has to be available at that exact moment. With email, it is more effective because you do not have to sit on a phone line and listen to annoying music for hours until someone picks up!
Email lets businesses market to targeted audiences. Customers can opt in to receive email communications about products they own, sales or new items. Customers who receive targeted emails based on their preferences are likely to be more receptive. Email marketing can also target customers based on their status with a business. For example, a business can tailor messaging to new customers, existing customers and repeat customers.
Everyday email empowers you to directly engage with customers on a personal, individual and permission basis. People tend to prefer engaging via email than other potentially irrelevant and impersonal forms of marketing. When running a business in a highly competitive world it’s more important than ever to make ever cent count. Capitalising on marketing opportunity – at no cost to company while communicating with clients in the normal course of events – is an opportunity not to be missed!
Selling Via Email
The last point that has made email so important is for selling to customers. If a business has been smart enough to build a list of its customers, then they are going to reap the benefits if they know what they are doing. There are great automated email systems that can handle thousands of emails with one click.
There are products like a drag and drop HTML email builder that could really be used to form effective emails to sell like crazy! Drag and drop email templates have been so successful in the past and it is why businesses are continuing to use them to generate more revenue. Most people would say that the biggest impact of email is the boost in sales that companies have gotten.
