Trucks are the best vehicles out there. Big, durable, and powerful, petrolheads worldwide are crazy for trucks and the USA is home to some of the best. Whether you’re driving an off-roader or an 18-wheeler, having a cool-looking vehicle is important. Read on for our top tips so you can trick up your truck in no time and have the freshest wheels around.
Exterior Upgrades:
1. Add A Turbo
Turbo Chargers will offer more power to your truck and reduce some of the chemical nasties exiting your vehicle that could be put to better use. Check out some international truck parts to see which turbo would be best for your particular truck. You’ll be adding a ton of power with a relatively easy and lower-cost modification that will get you further on the roads at a quicker pace. Perfect if travel long distances in your vehicle.
2. Upgrade Your Grill
Switching out your dirty, bashed-up grill for a shinier, newer version will instantly make your truck look a whole lot better. You can buy new ones online or look for a really cool vintage grill that you can restore to look brand new. If you want to look even more fierce or add extra visibility on the roads, go for a model with LED lights inbuilt. Sticking on your new one is easy and can usually be done by hand so long as you have the correct hand tools. Simply unscrew the bolts from the old grill and have a buddy hold the new one in place while you screw it in securely. Fast and fuss-free!
3. New Wheels
Wheels are the basis of your truck so getting them right is important. Next time you need new tires go the whole hog and get new wheels (if you can afford it). Super shiny rims as well as improved performance and safety? Sounds like a no-brainer right?
4. Add Some Extra Lighting
All vehicles must have headlights but trucks have the space and capability to add a whole lot more. swap your old yellowing headlights for bright LEDs to start. Then think about where you can add extra shine. Light strips across the back in different colors will not only look cool but help drivers behind you see where your truck ends. Get a professional to help you install these as you’ll need the right brackets, and they will need to be drilled in. Add some sick neon spotlights under the side steps that will be visible as your jump out. Bonus points if you can match them to the color of your vehicle.
5. Get It Wrapped
Now, this isn’t the cheapest or easiest trick, but a new wrap will totally change the look of your truck. If your vehicle is old and tired-looking, a wrap or even just a fresh paint job will have your wheels looking like brand new! You can totally use your independent sense of style to make it unique and creative too.
6. Add An Air Horn
This tip is mostly for safety. While you might be a good driver, chances are the roads around you will be full of morons who shouldn’t be allowed a license. Adding an air horn to your truck will look cool, but more importantly, it will let others around you know that you’re steering a ten-ton mass of steel and gas and they need to get the hell out of your way.
7 Swap Your Side Steps
Replacing your side steps for newer versions can make your truck look instantly better. You can find them easily online and in in-house auto shops. If your rusty old steps are creaky and battered it’s also important for your safety, you don’t want to be jumping on them and have them fall apart!
8. Tint The Windows
Tinted windows not only look super cool but also keep the interior of your truck feeling cooler. If you’re driving through hot areas and sleeping in your vehicle this will make a huge difference. It is important to remember that different states have different regulations for the depth and darkness of window tints so do check with your state’s individual laws.
Interior Upgrades:
1. Get New Seats
Most truck drivers tend to spend a long time in their vehicle so it’s likely that you are part of that number. If you spend hours on end sitting on your backside you’ll need your seats to be as comfortable as possible. If your current chairs are worn and old, chances are they won’t be the nicest places to sit for ages. Switch out the seats for new ones and your butt will thank you.
2. Upgrade Your Sound System
Everyone knows a sick vehicle needs a sick sound system so your truck should be no different. add some subwoofers behind the seats and replace the door speakers for a crisp sound with great bass and you’ll love spending time in your truck with your music volume turned up high.
3. Add a Sleeping Platform
If you don’t already have a bed in your truck you’re missing out. long journeys require awake and alert drivers so making sure you’re getting your fair share of shut-eye is super important for your safety and those around you. Adding a small cot will mean you can get some sleep with a little bit of comfort and be well-rested before another long driving stint. Plus, if you usually spend the night in crappy motels you can save a whole lot of money.
4. Replace Your Steering Wheel
It’s likely you spend hours with your hands glued to your steering wheel. This means it’s probably worn-out, grubby, and full of bacteria. Replace your wheel with a newer one to make your truck not only look cleaner but actually feel cleaner too. If you can get a wheel with useful buttons such as sound control then you’ll be a safer driver too, as your hands will never have to leave the wheel.
